Application Support Engineer

Salary: Competitive Package Location: Cambridgeshire

Our client is a fast-paced Fintech company that provides new insights into data and its behaviours. Due to the team’s growth, they are looking to recruit a technically minded application support engineer. You will have experience working with Linux and commercial experience in a similar environment.

About the role:

  • You will be responsible for supporting the customers after the technical installation process
  • Dealing with incoming calls and emails from the customers and ensuring that issues are resolved promptly
  • Be able to work in an “on-call” schedule to provide out-of-hours support
  • Assisting with technical diagnosis of issues and resolving problems
  • Working with the testing and development teams to make sure that issues are resolved
  • Maintaining support documentation at all times

The experience you will need:

  • Extensive experience with Linux and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS or Azure preferred)
  • Ideally you will have an understanding of programming languages, Java or Python is preferred
  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – you will have contact with external customers
