Payments Analyst

Salary: £30k - £35k Location: London

Our client, a fintech challenger bank are seeking a payments analyst to join their team in London. You will support and deliver operational duties as well as manage customer services related issues.  Ideally, you will be currently working in a payments and operations related role with some focus on investigations and customer service.


  • To act as a first point of escalation to resolve customer, internal and external queries
  • You will adhere to scheme requirements in a timely manner and in line with service levels
  • Along with the above experience, we expect the prospective candidate to be willing and able to perform the following:
  • You will enable continuous improvement of the processes
  • You will support team leaders and senior analysts
  • Building and maintaining an understanding of AML, KYC, banking sanctions and FCA regulations
  • Making sure that the handling of customer accounts and client funds are fully compliant
  • To build and maintain relationships with customers and third party payment bodies
  • Produce reports and management information where necessary

Essential Skills and Experience

  • An understanding and experience with UK Payments and Clearing
  • Familiar with Straight Through Processing (STP) and CHAPS, Faster Payments desirable
  • Strong analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work on multiple items concurrently
  • Experienced at investigating and resolving reconciliation differences
  • Customer services and operations experience desired
