Job Summary:
Responsible for procuring services from vendors for the company’s debit and prepaid products. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimised. Keep records of all orders to ensure that purchases remain within budget and on schedule. Develops specifications for new contract orders. Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards. Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
Responsible for working as liaison between vendors and our client. Identify, select, and monitor vendors/suppliers and negotiate final contracts. May create systems and procedures to ensure overall quality of vendor services. Facilitate development of relationships with vendors/suppliers, maintain relationships for long-term contracts, and mediate performance and scorecard disputes.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops purchasing arrangements with suppliers.
Provides pricing quotes, completes purchase orders, and processes requisitions for clients.
Develop and investigate supply sources, and issue request for quotations, proposals, or bids for those items not covered by any existing purchasing arrangement.
Resolves outstanding issues, complies with supplier requests and responds to client inquiries.
Receive orders and assure customer quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements are met.
Liaise with financial part of the company to raise purchase orders / customer invoices and authorise payment of vendor invoices
Serve as liaison to vendors and suppliers.
Actively participate in meetings with external vendors or internal stakeholders monitoring service levels against contracted agreements
General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of supply chain or procurement functions and procedures, with particular knowledge of card manufacturing and fulfilment functions
Knowledge of vendor relations
Knowledge of project management methods and techniques
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels inside the company and with customers
Excellent problem solving, team and time management skills managing multiple deadlines for self and others
Proficiency in evaluating the performance capabilities of subordinates as well as counsel subordinates in development and/or corrective discipline
Proficiency to operate independently on work that is often confidential in nature.
Job Level:
Advanced professional role. Has complete understanding of supply chain and procurement / contract review principles. Generally is responsible for multiple vendors of medium to high complexity that require demonstrated knowledge; in particular plastic cards & related materials / services.
Ensures contractual agreements are met. Develop alternatives, strategies and plans of action to facilitate the negotiation process.
Coaches and mentors more junior technical staff. Works under minimal supervision on complex projects. Wide latitude for independent judgment.
Typically requires five (5) or more years of demonstrated related experience.
