Following a restructure, our client, a London based Fintech is looking to recruit a Head of Financial Crime / MLRO. This is a fast-paced start-up environment within a growing business.
The right candidate will be an expert in Financial Crime, have experience as an MLRO and extensive knowledge of the payments industry, as well as having proven management ability and experience in leading a financial crime team, and a track record of scaling a team and in leading process improvements, and of managing third-party providers.
It is essential that any potential candidates have a strong payments industry background, the salary could be flexible for the right candidate.
You will need to understand all forms of financial crime and dispute management, get involved in the details when required, as well as focusing on the bigger picture.
In this role you will lead the fight against financial crime, you will create, implement, manage and
coordinate an effective financial crime framework in multiple jurisdictions, being well-versed in managing people, projects, investigations and setting strategy while also being hands-on.
In the role you will –
Take responsibility for strategy, manage and control all forms of financial crime,
ensuring the business meets its legal and regulatory requirements.
Recruiting, training and managing the financial crime team, including analysts and data
Defining the approach to identification and verification checks and creating and defining the strategy for use of third-party data providers and managing ongoing relationships.
Overall management of all customer disputes, overseeing manual and automatic monitoring of all transactions and other customer activity.
Overseeing the automation of processes where possible to provide the best customer experience
Take responsibility for all Financial crime reporting and analysis, both internally and externally, to the FCA and other regulators
You must have experience of working in a card and other payments financial services company
