Strategic Sales Manager
£50k - £80k plus OTE
Our client, a rapidly growing start up are hiring for a Strategic Sales Manager to act as the new business development lead, plan for business growth and to act as a mentor amongst a small but developing team. An understanding of payments is required, ideally from an issuing background but they are open to seeing the best salespeople in the market! You will report director to the Business Development Director. Your role will be based remotely but you must be able to access their London office when required – this is typically one a week.
The role:
- Responsibility and ownership for all sales across the business
- Managing the sales team to grow and meet set targets
- Developing and implementing strategic sales plans
- Using acquired industry knowledge to identify potential new clients and using your own network
- Developing and implementing new sales initiatives, strategies and programmes
- Working with engineering, product management and other teams (customer service and marketing) to ensure client satisfaction
- Overall responsibility for salesforce pipeline management
- Working closely with Business Development, Marketing and Product management to develop compelling sales propositions, sales collateral and online marketing campaigns;
The skills:
- Commercial experience in a focussed strategic sales role
- You will have ideally worked in payments or card issuing with knowledge of the retail, hospitality, events identity or markets
- Time and budget management skills
- Demonstrable leadership and management skills
- Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills
- Experience of working in a small company environment a plus
- Knowledge or experience of the smartcard market a bonus
